Before we go down the rabbit hole of a few decades of research… Emotion self-awareness is a skill.
Therefore self-report on emotion tends to be harder and more inaccurate on a more granular level.
For example, if you attribute my ‘Focus streaks’ as ‘Feels more like flow’, that is going to require much more emotion self-awareness acumen than I’m 'Not sure’ or my focus streaks are ‘Generally reflective’.
The options ’not sure’ and ‘generally reflective’ are on much broader strokes than the ‘feels more like xxx’ options, as the latter require you to be able to form unbiased conceptual model of 2 types of emotion states at the same time as opposed to a hunch of whether an emotion streak orb is reflective enough or requires more tuning.
To give you a feel of the conceptual model of these 6 emotions.
is the state of sustained attention on an activity or task even if there are other distracting stimuli present.
is the mental state of being completely immersed in an activity, coinciding with your peak performance.
most easily occur during a state of relaxation, but it can also be found during much more alert and aware states.
result from the lapses in ability to concentrate on a task and sustain the requisite degree of focused attention.
result from the overuse of the brain's inhibitory attention mechanisms, which handle incoming distractions.
is the mental strain from reaction to the pressures, producing responses such as frustration, irritability or anxiety.
In other words, please stay with the first 2 options [not sure, generally reflective] and steer away from the latter 5 options of ‘feels more like xxx’, when you are less confident.
